Meetings are the lifeblood of corporate communication—but they're also a common source of frustration. "We were losing 2-3 hours per week per employee to 'meeting chaos,'" says Raj Patel, facilities manager at GreenWave Corp, a renewable energy firm with 200+ employees. "Rooms double-booked, agendas missing, attendees showing up late because they couldn't find the right conference room—you name it." In 2023, GreenWave set out to fix this with a two-part solution:
POE meeting room digital signage outside each conference room, and
desktop tablet L-type series inside for interactive collaboration.
The POE (Power over Ethernet)
digital signage was a no-brainer for Patel. "Traditional signage required separate power and data cables, which meant messy installations and higher maintenance costs," he explains. "POE sends both power and data over a single Ethernet cable, so we could mount the screens flush to the wall without unsightly wires." Each 10.1 inch
digital signage display shows real-time room availability (via integration with Google Calendar), upcoming meetings, and even a "check-in" button for attendees. "Now, when someone walks down the hall, they can glance at the screen and see if a room is free in 5 minutes or booked for the next hour," Patel says. "Double-bookings dropped by 90% overnight."
Inside the meeting rooms, GreenWave opted for the
desktop tablet L-type series—sleek, angled tablets that sit on conference tables. Unlike traditional flat tablets, the L-shape design tilts the screen upward, making it easy for everyone around the table to see. "We use them for interactive agendas, live polling, and note-taking," Patel says. "If the marketing team is presenting, they can pull up a slide on the main
projector and use the L-type tablet to annotate feedback in real time. The notes are automatically saved to our shared drive, so no one leaves wondering 'who was supposed to do what.'"
The combination of POE
digital signage and L-type tablets transformed GreenWave's meeting culture. "Meetings now start on time, stay on track, and end with clear action items," Patel reports. "Employees say they're 'less drained' after meetings, and our HR surveys show a 25% increase in satisfaction with internal communication. It's not just about the tech—it's about respecting people's time."
